1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using YummJar ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

For iOS users, this agreement is supplemented by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/.

2. Description of Service

YummJar is a mobile application that allows you to:

• Create, store, and organize digital recipes
• Import recipes from websites and physical sources
• Scale recipe ingredients for different serving sizes
• Share recipes with other users
• Sync your recipe collection across devices
• Access additional features through premium subscriptions

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• One person or entity may not maintain multiple accounts.
• YummJar is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

3.2 Account Security

• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• We are not liable for any loss or damage from unauthorized account access

4. Acceptable Use

4.1 You May

Use YummJar for personal, non-commercial purposes; create and store your own recipes; import from public sources; share recipes; and export your data.

4.2 You May NOT

Use YummJar for illegal purposes; upload infringing or harmful content; attempt to gain unauthorized access; reverse engineer the app; use bots or scraping tools; or resell our service.

5. Content and Intellectual Property

5.1 Your Content

• You retain ownership of recipes and content you create
• You grant us a license to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide the service
• You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to any content you upload
• You may delete your content at any time

5.2 Our Content

• YummJar and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us
• Our trademarks and logos may not be used without permission
• We provide preset categories and tags for your convenience

5.3 Recipe Import

• When importing recipes, ensure you have permission to use the content
• We are not responsible for copyright issues related to imported content
• Our recipe rewriting feature helps create original versions of imported recipes

6. Subscriptions and Payments

6.1 Free Service

YummJar offers a free tier with basic functionality, including:

• Unlimited recipe storage
• Basic organization features
• Recipe import and scaling
• Cross-device sync

6.2 Premium Subscriptions

Premium features may be available through subscription plans, including:

• Advanced organization tools
• Enhanced sharing features
• Priority customer support
• Early access to new features

6.3 Billing

• Subscription fees are billed in advance.
• Payments are processed through app store providers (Apple, Google).
• Prices may change with 30 days' notice.
• Refunds are subject to the policies of the respective app store provider.

Automatic Renewal & Cancellation (Apple Compliance):

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Renewal and cancellation are managed through the user's Apple ID account settings.
• Payment and refunds are processed by Apple.
• Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.

7. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policyexplains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using YummJar, you consent to our privacy practices.

8. Termination

8.1 By You

• You may stop using YummJar at any time
• You may delete your account from the app settings
• Account deletion permanently removes your data after 30 days

8.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Use the service for harmful or illegal activities
• Remain inactive for an extended period
• Fail to pay applicable fees

9. Disclaimers

9.1 Service Availability

• YummJar is provided "as is" without warranties
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
• We may modify or discontinue features at any time

9.2 Recipe Information

• We are not responsible for the accuracy of imported recipe information
• Users should verify recipe safety and dietary details
• Scaling calculations are provided as assistance only
• We are not liable for cooking results or food safety issues

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, YummJar shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of YummJar, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Dispute Resolution

12.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California.

12.2 Arbitration

Most disputes can be resolved through our customer support. For legal disputes, both parties agree to binding arbitration rather than court proceedings, except for small claims matters.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of YummJar after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Miscellaneous

14.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and YummJar.

14.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
